• Coordinated "From the Ground Up," a $3 million housing design competition that resulted in the construction of three innovative, sustainable homes in a local low-income neighborhood.
• Participated in prospect research and grant writing.
• Planned and executed over 20 different dinners, receptions, and ceremonies in conjunction with my projects. These events were held in varying settings and were always geared to act as development events, with important guests in attendance from industry, government, and the community. My responsibilities extended to all aspects of the events, from scheduling and catering to design and publicity.
• Created publicity materials including mass mailings, posters, newsletters, press releases, website and social media updates, and HTML communications, often working with graphic designers. All publicity materials were held to exacting standards and I became accustomed to operating in a setting where design currency and a coherent institutional image were paramount.
• Organized and TA'd Real Estate Design and Development, a course specifically designed to act as a development tool for the school through fostering relationships with New York City real estate professionals. I aided in teaching the community development aspect of the course and coordinated over 15 visits with bankers, financiers, architects, and developers.
• Collaborated extensively with university and community partners as part of the Near Westside Initiative, a $25M+ University-led community development program aimed at revitalizing one of the poorest census tracts in the US. I represented the School of Architecture at community meetings, developed an outreach agenda, gave presentations at monthly neighborhood meetings, organized focus groups to get project feedback, and spent many hours on the ground in the neighborhood speaking with local residents informally about our projects.
