Assist in the permit process for large scale building construction projects within the jurisdiction of the City of Chicago.

Use the e-plan (Project Dox software) and Hansen system to start work flow for all new projects. The projects are then picked up by the respective project managers for permit review and approval.

Assist the project administrators with clerical work of processing - permit fees, developer services fee and storm water fees. Help with intra-department communication for the same. Scan and file relevant documents to the electronic database.

Assist with Fire code review of buildings and get familiar with building occupancy code, construction type and height and area requirements for the City of Chicago. Physical stamping and storage of relevant drawings and documents. Co ordinate with the electrical reviewer to stamp the same set of drawings for approval of fire alarm systems used in the projects.

Assist the project managers in the electronic stamping of drawings to issue the final set of permit drawings to be sent to the field.

In the process of learning green building permit program, zoning ordinance and Chicago Building code.
