BIO-PYRAMID:REVERSING DESERTIFICAITON, Honorable Mention

“Bio-Pyramid” proposes that we throw away the status-norm on historic preservation/tourism and create a super-hybrid of re-activating areas that truly make a global difference. “Bio-Pyramid” is a non-conventional skyscraper that not only operates as a “bio-sphere” but also as a gateway from Cairo across the Sahara Desert; linking a sustainable armature to reverse desertification from a monumental to small nomadic scale. This proposal is not only a viable economical gain for cities like Giza and Cairo, but as an architectural eco-techno statement that mixed-use typologies are more relevant as we diverse globally and sustainably. With over population and consumption on the rise we need to find a way to merge different typologies

Bocconi International Design Competition, Award

Collaborated with NYIT 2012 graduates from my thesis studio as well as members from the School of Landscape Architecture at Kingston University in London, England, and the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Politecnico di Milan to design a futuristic extension of the Bocconi campus in the industrial neighborhood Centrale del Latte. This invitation-only 2012 international design competition was hosted by L. Bocconi Business School in Milan Italy.

Our design envisions an environment of open spaces integrated with Milan's urban landscape serving as a connection to the city's surrounding communities. Sustainable strategies were integrated into the proposal, such green roofing systems, water collection, natural ventilation, solar energy, and biomass
