Designed in collaboration with APDA - Ana Paula de Alba in the interiors and furniture, the complex seeks to put the user in direct and continuous contact with the environment.
The house is made of four independent pavilions. Their arrangement responds to the topography of the site and its existing vegetation. The first of the modules houses the common areas, and the other three houses the bedrooms; two main ones face the bay, and one is inside the jungle. The main volume -open on three sides without doors or windows- proposes to inhabit the space in a roofed continuum; a single-shaded terrace. The roofs of the four volumes are single-pitched roofs with the slope that accompanies the fall of the land and the treetops, seeking to be discreet within the context and at the same time, protect the interior from the western sun.
The greatest challenge of this project was to understand its location, and respect the existing vegetation and accompanying the topography of the site to use it in favor of the dwelling. The center of the house is not the architecture but the voids generated by the arrangement of the 4 pavilions that make up the project and that erase the boundaries of the property.
The result is a project that understands life within a harsh environment and puts you in direct contact with it while being cozy and fresh; air and vegetation are the two elements that allow you to live outside in a direct way and be in constant contact with the immediate context.
