Building Surveyor/Certiifer by profession for the last seven + years in far north Queensland Australia (Freelance). Prior to this role, I was a brickwork subcontractor in Europe and the UK.
Graduated from univesity of Wolverhampton, England in 2004, migrated in 2005. Worked in two small, but busy young private offcies and within a couple of local governments as a temporary surveyor/certifier before going it alone in 2007.
In essence clients engage me to study their projects drawings to ensure compliance with the building code of Australia and Queensland state legislation. If all complies, I issue a building permit, and inspect the works as they progress.
Upon completion of the works, I release a final certificate/certificate of classification, this allows legal occupancy of the building and its use.
