hrdwrkshp is a multi-faceted design workshop happily entrenched in design at all scales. From architecture and urban planning, to interiors, furniture, and household objects, hrdwrkshp seeks relevant, impactful solutions though clever and sensitive designs.
With Masters Degrees from Columbia University in New York, BArchs from University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and global studies leading them to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South America, and Asia, co-founders Nicholas Hopson AIA and Klara Rodstrom share an interest in culture, art, craft, urban and rural conditions, geography, climate, and current issues that inevitably affect the relevance of design in today's global society.
Professionally, Hopson and Rodstrom share extensive experience in both Los Angeles and New York. Involvement with the following award-winning firms - LOHA, wHY, Standard, Gluck Plus, Leeser Architecture, Work AC, Daly Genik, Sander Architects, and Tighe Architecture - has provided them with experience in a variety of project scales, ranging from large institutional museum, theater, gallery, and school projects, to fashion and food retail, hospitality, and single-family, multi-family, and mixed-use housing projects. This breadth of knowledge and experience enables hrdwrkshp to bring fresh and varied perspectives to each and every project scale. Nicholas Hopson is a registered architect in California.
hrdwrkshp has a knack for tailor-fitting each project to its client, budget, and surrounding environment, and takes great pleasure in the unexpected and meaningful results this creates.
