In an effort to contain foul odor and removal of chemicals form highly corrosive air at City of Los Angeles, Hyperion Wastewater Treatment Plant, this Bio Trickling Facility (BTF) was constructed. Built 2020.
Inner structure of the BTF is built using Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) platform & FRP columns instead of steel in order to avoid reaction with toxic air inside BTF building. PVC protective liner applied to all inner walls to prevent damage to concrete from toxic air.
BTF access hatch doors designed & detailed taking into consideration constant positive outward air pressure while process is operational. Stairs and platform access around all sides of BTF. Structural support for mechanical equipment and ducts as shown.
Model and structural construction documents & structural details created entirely in Revit Structure.
