The town of Dubá together with Mšeno and Liběchov constitutes one of the entrances to the Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area. This region with deep rocky ravines covered in dense forests, medieval castles and castle ruins forms an enchanting and mysterious world in view of the largest Czech river Elbe.

The camp in Nedamov on the bank of Černý rybník (“Black Pond”), located one kilometre from the centre of Dubá, can serve as a starting point for trips to its magical surroundings. The camp grounds with a remarkable hilly topography are situated on a grassy ridge. One hillside gently descents towards the surface of the pond with the rocky opposite slope. The other hillside dips to the west towards the road lined with full-grown deciduous trees.

Within the first stage of preparation, which is part of the revitalization of the camp grounds, we removed the existing lodges in the south-west and replaced them with new ones. Nine of them are single-storey (2013) and two two-storey (2014). The new simply furnished lodges are located on the dramatic unused slope oriented towards the tree-lined road from Dubá. The lodges, planted out on the hillside with new green vegetation, are diverse in shape and seemingly random, which represents the picturesque world of “nest boxes”. Living among the treetops.

The simple single-space lodges with a timber frame structure (reinforced with plywood sheets) are based on ground screws / reinforced concrete stumps and carried up by a steel welded frame. The accommodated visitors can use nearby wash rooms.
