American architecture and planning have been long enforcing the lifestyle that depends on the ownership of the automobile. The building typology such as Transit Oriented Development represents an attempt by architects and planners to reverse this trend –or at least to encourage a reasonable combination of automobile and public transportation. This project will incorporate the terminus station within the Mid-Cost Corridor Trolley extension connecting downtown San Diego to University of California San Diego and University Town Centre. The Transit station will serve as a hub to UCSD’s 30,000 students and the thousands of daily visitors to UTC becoming an urban node in the changing cityscape.
