HCRA formed first as a collaboration between two wholly formed design studios and ended as a marriage that combined the strengths of both. Harriett Hatch and Luis Colasuonno of Hatch-Colasuonno bring with them more than thirty years of experience, particularly in the areas of urban renewal, multi-family and mixed use architecture. They evolved a working methodology which results in comprehensive and quality design responses, even when confronted with very tight schedules, limited budgets and varied programs. After designing and building more than two thousand residential units, several LEED silver, gold and platinum projects, they have become highly familiar with the challenges associated with creating special needs housing and related support services for disabled people, homeless or abused children, the elderly, and for impoverished families.
Tima Bell and Scott Sullivan of Relativity Architects met during their graduate studies at the Southern California Institute of Architecture and have been collaborating since before their graduation in 1999. Their practice has excelled in projects ranging from high-end hospitality, mixed use retail, single family residences and motion picture production campuses. Their concern for a balanced approach between quality and efficiency has made them exceed the limitations of conventional construction methodologies into the realm of using alternative materials and forms to provide architectural solutions.
The combination of these design professionals into one firm, with the support of an accomplished design staff and roster of experienced consultants allows HCRA to tackle projects with complex mixes of programmatic requirements and deliver them on time, within budget, and with the highest quality of design.
