William Harris ASLA, a landscape architect for a span of 30 years, has spearheaded public and private projects at some of the top internationally recognized firms, including MESA Design Group in Dallas, TX, Sasaki Associates, and, most recently, Edmund Hollander Design. His career has been dedicated to creating inspiring, functional and award-winning spaces and places. A respected designer, Mr. Harris has been the landscape designer of some of the world’s most prestigious projects.
Mr. Harris was with Edmund Hollander Design in New York City for 15 years in which capacity he has designed residential estates for the “rich and famous” and collaborated with some of the leading architects and interior designers. His completed landscape projects have been shown in Architectural Digest, the New York Times and Vanity Fair magazine. The firm has won numerous awards for the complex design projects of which Mr. Harris designed along with Edmund Hollander.
Mr. Harris draws upon a depth of experience in rigorous problem solving, creative conceptualization, and graphic and verbal communication skills. In addition, he has successfully provided leadership to and mentored designers and production staff. His ability to manage budgets, client expectations and critical path schedules has facilitated the successful implementation of hardscape and landscape projects while consistently gaining client confidence, trust and satisfaction and garnering a loyal repeat clientele.
As a senior landscape designer for several internationally recognized firms, Mr. Harris has been instrumental in promoting environmentally responsible development which has made a real contribution to the quality of life for the people who live in or visit the communities in which he has worked.
A graduate of the University of Arizona in Tucson, he was honored for three years to be a fellow of the prestigious Graham Foundation for the Advancement of the Fine Arts. He preceded his degree in landscape architecture with extensive studies in architecture and the history of architecture at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
