A competition I participated during the internship at BIAD. The design concept for
the Laoshan Cultural Center takes inspiration from the surrounding topography and
integration of “Shan Shui” characteristics and spatial elements. In combination with
a vibrant artistic, and creative environment the design seeks to maximizes the site’s strategic geographical location as an innovation hub. With careful consideration of the local climate, the buildings are carved and shaped to allow for a seamless flow of natural landscapes and act as a continuation of the cityscape. The vision of the building’s silhouette is iconic and contextual.
