Hannah graduated in May of 2013 from The School of Architecture at The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design.
One of the highlights of Hannah's academic career included a semester as an exchange student in Valencia, Spain. She also traveled through Europe and Morocco for two months after graduation, which led to to a fresh perspective on design standards and solutions, an interest in working in an international environment, and a newfound appreciation for central air-conditioning.
She was also a member of Ampersand, the UT Interior Design chapter of ASID and IIDA, which involved a range of activities, such as: participation in student shows, volunteer design work at the local homeless shelter, and speaking to representatives at the the Texas State Capitol about important laws involving interior designers.
To explore her interest in healthcare design, Hannah worked as an intern for Schneider Halls Design, an architectural firm in Austin that exclusively specializes in healthcare architecture. Outside of her academic schedule, she also competed in the first AIA SES Student Healthcare Design Competition as part of a team to design a community preventative care clinic. These experiences taught her that healthcare architecture is a rewarding design field with a capability to significantly improve the lives of others. In the future, she hopes to pursue that passion for improving lives through thoughtful design.
Hannah is currently seeking a junior designer position within an architectural firm. She also plans on becoming a registered Interior Designer through the NCIDQ Examination and is interested in LEED accreditation.
