Hanbury is pleased to announce our new firm leadership. Our firm has been planning the sustainable transition from the leadership of our founders to the next generation for years. This new leadership team is the latest step in Hanbury's evolution as the firm prepares for the next generation of growth and design excellence.  "Our leadership team is charged with creating an environment where we can achieve our strategic goals of being the firm of choice nationally and locally; growing our talent and our markets; elevating project and firm performance; and creating spaces that are loved and endure through our work and our people." – David Keith, CEO The following people make up our leadership team:

Project Operations Director: Bill Hopkins As Operations Director, Bill is responsible for coordinating daily project operations of the firm. He collaborates with the Leadership Team to understand, coordinate and provide the resources required to meet the needs of our practice and to ensure and improve design quality, performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the firm through the provision of effective methods and strategies for the implementation of the firm's project work. Bill has provided solid leadership in ensuring project profitability and success. He is intrigued by the application of new technologies to our practice, and focused on streamlining systems to best achieve project vision, design excellence and profit.

Finance Director: Chrissy Gahm As Finance Director, Chrissy oversees finance and human resources for Hanbury. She is responsible for the development of policies, procedures, and controls within the accounting function as well as analyzing and reporting the financial performance of the firm. She provides financial advice and support to help the leadership team make key decisions. Additionally, she leads human resources strategies to ensure alignment with organizational business goals and regulatory compliance.

Chrissy has taken on new initiatives that encourage employees to utilize available technology and expedite the reporting of information for the firm. She is always seeking ways to enhance our benefits and our work environment through responsible and creative resource management.

Firm Operations Director: Richard Rusinak Richard Rusinak oversees the technology department assuring Hanbury is on the leading edge of technology as it relates to the architectural industry. He also works with design teams to make sure client specifications with regard to cost, quality, and schedule are met. Richard is a solid day-to-day resource for the firm, its employees, and clients, known for his accuracy, thoroughness, and reliability. Throughout his career at Hanbury, he has learned that contemporary architectural practice is as much, if not more, about the science and technology of building construction, as it is about the art of design. Finding the proper balance between art and science is the key to successful projects.

Design Director: Rob Reis As Design Director Robert Reis serves as the leader of design excellence and is responsible for ensuring that our work reflects our design philosophy. To accomplish this, he encourages a firm-wide conversation, and more specifically, an active conversation among the firm’s Design Principals, to bring clarity and consistency to our our work, with the intent that each design leader is an advocate for design, a facilitator of the design process and resources, and a champion of measures and initiatives that elevate the quality of our built work. Active across all project types at Hanbury, Rob values simplicity, clarity, and restraint as traits of design that not only stands the test of time, but is also loved and endures, and ultimately matters.

President and Market Director: Keith Storms Keith Storms is the leader of market development for Hanbury, focusing on helping the firm achieve its targeted market leadership goals and national reputation. Primary areas of engagement include: client development (new and existing), thought leadership strategies, brand alignment and development, determining market appropriate research initiatives, and all areas of influence on the development of our current and future clients.

Keith is also the president of the firm and leader of the planning team. He leads university and college clients throughout the nation in creating comprehensive plans that support and enable long-term strategic goals, focus on student outcomes, and reinforce the campus’s sense of place.

Chief Executive Officer: David Keith As Hanbury's Chief Executive Officer, David Keith provides visionary and strategic leadership for the firm. He is responsible for establishing, communicating and implementing the company’s vision and mission.  David brings 30 years of experience to the firm. His collaborative approach to urban and campus planning and his hands-on design attention has allowed him to lead a variety of significant projects locally and nationally. His strengths complement and extend Hanbury's legacy as a firm that is recognized for creativity and design of spaces that transform and inspire.

All of this change comes at a time when Nick Vlattas, FAIA, Chief Operating Officer, is retiring and leaving a beautiful firm that he helped build. As we recognize his 40+ years of service to the firm and the industry, we embrace that part of our task is to continue his legacy.
