Project for an end of terrace building

Disposition of space: End of terrace seven storey building comprising residential apartments, vertically stacked loggia balconies, first floor offices and ground and basement retail spaces. 

Method of construction: Foundations: internally waterproofed and insulated one-piece 600 mm deep insitu concrete raft. External Walls: stretcher bond single skin blue engineering brickwork with cantilevered elements, cavity, insulation and aerated concrete thermal block internal walls. Floors: 180 mm thick insitu concrete floor slabs only, to enable the addition of an extra floor level, whilst matching the adjoining cornice height. Roof: zero falls insulated bitumen flat roof. Windows: double glazed timber frames with polyester powder coat aluminium external cladding. Staircase: mild steel stringers and balustrade with routed timber handrail. Elevator: 8-person passenger lift. Heating: gas boilers and wall mounted hot water radiators. Ventilation: passive natural convection wind chimney to ventilate single staircase.
