I am a New York City based architect and designer. I was born in New York City, but I have spent most of the past decade living in Sydney Australia. While in Sydney I completed a Bachelor of Design in Architecture and Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) Honours at the University of Sydney.
My practice is concerned with a wide scope of architectural thinking. My practice is rooted in exploration and critical thinking. I have a deep love of reading which has greatly influenced my architectural work, and my decision to spend some time as a set designer.
I have spent the last two years working as a set designer in theater and movies in the US and Australia. I have designed 5 theater shows, and worked as a Junior Set Designer on the sequel to Pacific Rim. These experiences have expanded my design thinking conceptually and practically.
My current obsession has landed on Japan and Japanese architecture. I have been reading Japan-ness In Architecture by Arata Isozaki, and Japanese Homes and Their Surroundings by Robert A Morse among others. I have found that Japanese conceptions of space, and interpretations of modernism on a conceptual level to be profoundly interesting.
