About 

Senior architect with over 20 years experience in Design and Construction sector in different  types of projects, with excellent experience in the design, inspection and construction of various types of buildings including Rail/Metro stations, Hospitals, Hospitality, Residential and commercial buildings. Hands-on experience in all project phases, from concept design to completion, involved in preparation of tenders, specifying the project requirements and assuring their compliance, valuation, planning, detail design, working closely with different professionals and actively playing a part in project and team management.

Egis Rail, Doha, QA, Design & Construction Manager PMC

From 2016 until the present, Goncalo joined Egis in Qatar as a Design and Construction Manager PMC on the new Doha Metro project delivering the Red Line South Elevated and Green Elevated section (4 Stations). In this role he:
 Coordinated and managed the consultant team to complete the stations architectural deliverables review for compliance with the employer requirements, international and local standards, from design stage, to construction and As Built stage (including landscape interfaces).
 Lead the architectural PMC team reviewing the BIM process and clash detection from design to construction.
 Weekly and monthly reports preparation monitoring the project progress, required resources and management system.
 Manage construction team responsible for the onsite monitoring off all construction activities including safety, quality, schedule, commissioning and handover.
 Coordinated the interfaces with other engineering disciplines, MEP, Structural and Civil, including the Civil Defense compliance and other local stakeholders.

KOUGC Construction, Algiers, DZ, Senior Architect / Deputy Technical Director

In 2014 Goncalo moved abroad to Algeria and started working in a contractor company Kougc involved in two big projects Design and Build, the Algiers Metro extension (JV with Colas Rail) and the new Blida Military Hospital. This experience provided the opportunity to develop new skills related with the Construction Management ensuring the program was completed on time, in budget and as per design. In this role he:
 Lead the architectural department in charge of developing design plans and documents for construction, Tender preparation and the as build documentation,
 Coordinated the construction interfaces with other engineering disciplines, planning activities with subcontractors
 Assisted on tender preparation process.
 Managed the materials choice, compliance and client approvals.

Goncalo started his career in 1999 in Lisbon’s architectural firm Neuparth AA working on design development, from concept to detail on several scales from interior fit out to large scale projects (Hospitality, Residential, Commercial, Master Plans). As a designer and architect of records Goncalo had the opportunity to work with several design tools like Autocad, Revit (BIM) and 3D Studio Max delivering high quality design which satisfied the needs of clients and users and compliance with the country’s regulation and codes.
