Georgios Kontominas (Athens, 1990) is a Senior Architectural Designer (10 yoe) with a demonstrated history of working in the architecture & planning industry, currently employed at WRNS Studio in San Francisco.
In the past, he has collaborated with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in San Francisco and SPARCH Sakellaridou/Papanikolaou Architects in Thessaloniki, Greece working on a wide range of projects and scales.
Georgios holds a Diploma in Architectural Engineering (Dipl-ing) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Greece, graduating Summa Cum Laude and as a Valedictorian. He earned his second Master's from UC Berkeley, College of Environmental Design, with Distinction, receiving merit-based scholarships by the department and being a Gerondelis Foundation Scholar and a Stavros Niarchos award recipient. While at UC Berkeley he also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher concentrating on exploring Additive Manufacturing, Bio-inspired Design and Digital Fabrication.
His work has been exhibited in Greece, Cyprus, Spain, UK, China, USA, and, has been nominated for prestigious awards, including the EU Mies van der Rohe Award (2024 Nominee with SPARCH Architects - American Elementary School of Thessaloniki | "Anatolia").
