Summer placement work-shadowing a small refurbishment project with the project architect. Understanding building regulations and the technical aspect to the design of a building. On site experience surveying for fireproofing, sound tests and understanding construction phases of a design.
Radical Routes Ecohousing Cooperative, Derby, GB, Construction Assistant
A 1.5 year self-building project based in Derbyshire. I was an apprentice for the construction of the Ecohousing project, under the guidance from the project architect. It provided me with physcial understanding to the fundamental elements of building structures and how the fabrication of each layer of the building affected each stage of construction.
