Renovation and restoration of the Holy Trinity Church in the Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan is nearing the final stages. GF55 Architect’s Partner-In-Charge Shay Alster AIA, led the gut renovation of this historic parish house built in 1929. The Church’s organ, stained glass windows, and original wood floors will be restored and reused to preserve historic accents. Modern finishes for the interior will balance the historic architecture of the church. The exterior of the church was restored and completed with new windows and window surroundings. When complete, the Holy Trinity Church will have new multi-purpose sanctuary and performing arts space, meeting spaces, rectory, kitchen, laundry facilities, and restrooms. The updated church will also bridge the way to a new multi-residential building in the adjacent lot.
