Competition - In 2007, Greensburg, Kansas was hit by a tornado devastating the entire town.  In the extreme weather conditions found here, the typical midwestern suburban house does not respond well structurally.  when weather conditions spiral out of control.  While no structure can be designed to completely withstand a tornado, KA|se Study is designed to greatly reduce the amount of damage and capitalizes on the opportunity to design in a sustainable manner. KA|se Study uses simple materials, a common sense approach and passive sustainable technologies to outperform traditional residential buildings both structurally and in overall energy consumption.
