The Arena SP stadium is located in the predominantly residential and a well established green zone in the east region of the city. The stadium has a capacity of 60,000 seats, and will serve as one of the playing venues during the 2014 World Cup. In order to create a relationship with its surroundings a grand open view of the field welcomes spectators to access both rings in the north-south axis. One of the key points of the architectural design is its adaptation to the ground area, taking advantage of the differences in level and therefore minimizing earthworks.
