Markus Fuerderer is an award-winning lighting designer based in New York City. He is working as project director & product designer for the Office for Visual Interaction — a visionary studio specialized in lighting design for signature architecture.
Markus collaborates with some of the world’s most celebrated architects, designers and artists on projects worldwide. He is a professional member of IES, IALD, AIA and IDSA.
He frequently serves as a guest judge for the Lighting Design Program (MFA) at Parsons - The New School for Design as well as the School of Architecture & Design at the New York Institute of Technology - NYIT.
Markus leads multi-disciplinary teams to materialize natural and artificial light into design solutions from architectural space to tangible experiences — carving form from darkness.

For almost three decades, Office for Visual Interaction (OVI) has been creating inventive lighting design, illuminating the world’s most prominent architectural works. As the name itself states, Office for Visual Interaction is inspired by light’s interaction with finishes and materials.
