Frank received his Bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico’s School of Architecture and Planning (SA+P) in Albuquerque, NM, in 2016. After graduating, he began his architectural career in San Francisco, CA, where he worked on a diverse range of projects, from high-rise luxury apartments to interior remodels of high-end residential homes and affordable/market-rate housing.
In 2020, Frank earned his Master’s in Advanced Architecture from IAAC in Barcelona, Spain. During his time there, he honed his architectural and fabrication skills and developed a strong interest in parametric design and computer programming.
Since then, Frank has continued his professional journey in Beijing, China, and is currently based in Lisbon, Portugal. In Beijing, he contributed to various projects of different scales and functions, including a masterplan competition, retail stores, office redesigns, and large adaptive reuse projects. These experiences have significantly enhanced his design and fabrication skills. Frank’s proficiency in parametric design was integral to these projects, contributing to their overall quality. He was recognized for his ability to learn and adapt quickly, consistently meet deadlines, and ensure client deliverables were completed on time.
In his previous role in Lisbon, Frank was responsible for developing 3D models and renders of luxury villas, high-end apartments, compounds, and commercial complexes in Saudi Arabia. He played a crucial role throughout all phases of the projects, from schematic and concept design to final construction. His skills and attention to detail made him a valuable team member, setting high standards for design and visual representation for the clients.
With over five years of international experience working on projects across the USA, China, and the Middle East, Frank believes his skills have strengthened, and he is eager to continue learning and growing in this field.
Frank has had the privilege of being part of multicultural and interdisciplinary working environments, where he has sharpened his eye for detail and strengthened his design skills. Living in diverse cultural contexts around the world has deepened his understanding that architecture is fundamentally about human interaction, creating a sensuous connection between the living and memory, the built and the imagined.
KEO International Consultants, Lisbon, PT, Architect
As a concept designer, I am responsible for generating early-stage design concepts that align with both Middle Eastern standards and specific client requirements. My role involves transforming abstract ideas into tangible design solutions, focusing on commercial and residential towers, landscapes, villas, and retrofitting projects. I leverage advanced modeling tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper to explore innovative forms and optimize design efficiency. Through these tools, I create detailed, adaptable models that serve as the foundation for further development, ensuring that each concept meets aesthetic, functional, and regulatory standards. My work is critical in setting the project's vision and guiding it through subsequent design phases.
ATA, Lisboa, PT, Architect
I specialized in developing 3D models and rendering luxury villas, high-end apartments, compounds, and commercial complexes. I was an integral team member throughout all project phases, from schematic and concept design to final construction, ensuring that all drawings and documents are essential to the building process. I contributed to developing solutions for technical and design challenges while adhering to established standards of the Middle East.
AntiStatics Architecture Design, Beijing, CN, Architectural Designer
I contributed to a diverse range of projects, from masterplan competitions and retail stores to office redesigns and large adaptive reuse. These experiences have significantly enhanced my design and fabrication skills. My expertise in parametric design was crucial in elevating the quality of these projects. I was recognized for my ability to learn and adapt quickly, consistently meet deadlines, and ensure timely delivery of client deliverables. I specialized in parametric design and fabrication, which allowed me to become head of the fabrications lab overseeing the creation and design of prototypes and physical models.
William Duff Architects, San Francisco, CA, US, Architectural Designer
As a Designer, I collaborated with various teams on interior remodels, commercial tenant improvements, and restaurant renovation projects. I created precise 3D models and drawings in Revit and prepared permit documents during the Design Development (DD) and Schematic Design (SD) phases.
Y.A. Studio, San Francisco, CA, US, Architectural Designer
In my role as a Designer, I primarily focused on the basement parking levels and lower floors of a new 540-unit high-rise tower and the retrofit of an adjacent historic building. From the early Construction Document (CD) phase to 90% completion, I created accurate 3D models and drawings in Revit for permits, assisted with parking layouts, and coordinated mechanical and office room layouts. I also worked closely with structural engineers on the preservation of a historic 1960s Art Deco Coca-Cola factory as part of the high-rise project.
Additionally, I supported the Design Development (DD) and Schematic Design (SD) phases of multiple affordable and market-rate housing projects. I developed design concepts and models for client presentations, using SketchUp for 3D modeling. I also assisted in the DD/SD phases of high-end residential interior remodeling projects, creating accurate Revit models and drawings for permits and presentations.
The Social Media Workgroup, Albuquerque, NM, US, Research Assistant
The Social Media Workgroup (SMW) investigates the social and ecological impacts of media technology through practice-based research. Based at the University of New Mexico, we design and create projects related to media technology, environment and social change. Currently, as a student research assistant, I collaborated on the design and fabrication of an L.E.D. installation at the UNM Center for Advanced Research Computing (CARC). My other projects include the graphic design of posters, flyers, and logos.
