Foundation AC (Architecture + Construction) is founded on the principle of understanding how materials and space work together to create compelling environments and structures.  

As architects we pursue simple and beautiful designs that celebrate the true nature of the built environment.  

While we thoroughly enjoy the process of design, we also know construction and all it entails, including what the words "schedule" and "budget" mean and why they are often foremost in our client’s minds.  

We are a licensed architecture and construction company, specializing in commercial tenant improvements, adaptive reuse of industrial buildings, and creative office renovations.   

At Foundation AC, we believe in giving back to our local community, and so we support our local schools in an effort to encourage and teach the next generation of designers and builders.

John Robinson, the founder and principal architect at Foundation AC, began his career in the construction industry at the young age of seven, apprenticing in the trades at Hubenthal Construction Company, his uncle Jim’s commercial construction business, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

After graduating from high school, with a breadth of hands-on construction experience, John set his sights on the architecture program at Penn State University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture.

With over 30 years of experience in construction and architecture, licensed in both New York and California, John has the knowledge, experience, and design talent necessary for the planning and execution of a successful project.
