Nestled to the edge of the Superior National Forest, the Lamella Pavilion, a modest 400-square-foot live/work studio designed by Forward Futures, is a testament to the enduring power of architecture to elevate the human experience. This diminutive structure, perched atop a rocky outcropping, offers a profound meditation on the relationship between man and nature.
The pavilion’s form, a graceful arch carved from cedar, emerges from the landscape with a quiet elegance. Its delicate frame, assembled by hand, speaks to a reverence for both material and process. The polycarbonate skin, a translucent veil, filters the gentle light of the North, casting an ethereal glow upon the interior. This interplay of light and shadow, of solid and void, creates an atmosphere of serene contemplation.
Here, in the heart of the wilderness, one is invited to disconnect from the distractions of modern life and reconnect with the natural world. The Lamella Pavilion is more than just a building; it is a sanctuary, a place where architecture becomes a catalyst for spiritual renewal.
