FORMA is a full-service architecture studio based in Brooklyn, New York and southern Connecticut. Founded in 2018, it is led by Miroslava Brooks and Daniel Markiewicz, whose friendship and collaboration began at the Yale School of Architecture many years earlier. Both partners have over two decades of combined experience designing and realizing built work and over a decade of teaching architectural design at the graduate level.
Loose aggregation of form, thoughtful configuration of the architectural plan, typological innovation, and color explorations drive FORMA’s recent work and interests. Since the beginning the studio has been committed to developing architecture that balances clarity and rigor with looseness and energy.
We collaborate with and provide visioning, design, and construction administration services to private clients for residential and commercial projects. Through competitions and self-driven initiatives, we also explore possibilities within larger cultural and public realms to engage with like-minded individuals, collectives, and institutions.
