(Pittsburgh, PA; February) – Pittsburgh-headquartered AE Works was awarded a contract by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for as-needed architecture and engineering support for the NRC’s long-term housing strategy and NRC’s restoration and refurbishment activities at its headquarters in Rockville, Maryland.  The work will also support the NRC’s commitment to sustainability and support compliance with Executive Orders 13514-Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic Performance and other federal "green" legislation, Executive Orders and regulations.

“The rapid change of technology and a priority on workplace culture has shifted the needs of today’s work environment - both in the private sector and at governmental agencies. The employee experience is at the core of current office design trends, shares AE Works President and CEO, Michael Cherock, PE. “Buildings support the experience of employees at all levels in many ways – from wellness to spaces designed to support specific work activities.”

The contract allows work for agency needs through April 2021. The first task order is for architecture and engineering design work so that the NRC can renovate lighting for its public auditorium.
