New York, NY
Gal Nauer Architects (GNA), an international architecture firm with studios in New York and Tel Aviv, has created a new architectural and interior design at 250 West Street, a historic landmark building located in the heart of TriBeCa. Originally built in 1906, 250 West Street has been converted from a landmark warehouse building into a 21st Century luxury residence featuring a majestic historic façade. The new contemporary design of the building embodies a modern sophistication, as well as the history of TriBeCa’s landmark district.
Originally designed by William H. Birkmire, the 11-story neo-Renaissance building consists of 111 loft-style condominiums and approximately 300,000 residential square feet. 250 West Street offers over 30 different layouts ranging from loft-style units with 16-foot ceilings to four-bedroom homes. Residents will enjoy a majestic lobby with 24-hour concierge service, private library lounge, 61-foot pool, and a two-level amenity area including a pool, children’s playroom, sauna and state-of-the-art fitness center.
Atop 250 West Street is a one-of-a-kind penthouse comprised of over 7,000 square feet, with a private entryway, lobby and elevator. In addition, a 5,000-square-foot rooftop terrace offers a sundeck, lounge, dining area, and panoramic views of the Hudson River and Hudson River Park’s new Piers 25 and 26.
“250 West Street introduces a magnificent new style of modern luxury living to TriBeCa,” said Gal Nauer, founder and president of Gal Nauer Architects. “This exquisite residence fits in perfectly with the neighborhood’s modern day energy and spirit, and also embraces the building’s past with its beautiful historic façade.”
Integrating the latest trends in luxury development, the project included the revitalization of the building exterior and renovation of the residential spaces, two grand entrances and a majestic penthouse suite. Unique to the project are loft residences with private ground-level interior entrances.
“250 West Street is designed specifically for the tenants’ downtown lifestyle and provides a living experience much like that of a mansion, rather than an apartment. This combination is what makes the condominium residence so special,” added Ms. Nauer.
250 West Street is located on the corner of Hubert and West Street, directly adjacent to newly constructed park facilities at pier 25 and 26 on the Hudson River. It offers the finest in building amenities, including a residents’ lounge, library, gym, rooftop terrace, yoga studio, private elevator vestibules, concierge services and on-site parking. The residences start at $1.5 million.
