Eight Inc. has been awarded with the iF Communication Design Award for its pop-up installation that helped launch New York Knick's Carmelo Anthony's Melo M8 Jordan Brand sneaker in the corporate architecture - shop/showroom category. Eight Inc. partnered with Nike for the second time for a product launch in New York.
Inspired after Carmelo Anthony himself, the exterior of the Bleeker Street installation mimics his explosive athletic talent on court, displayed by the shattered and diverging basketball floorboards. Melo M8 sneakers and apparel are hung throughout the planks on which quotes are cited. Anthony's calm demeanor off the court can be experienced inside the installation; two concave white walls display video footage that is describing him as a person - not just the player - and what drives and inspires him.
All 2013 iF award winners will be showcased at the iF design exhibition at CeBIT Hannover, furthermore in Hamburg and Haikou/Hainan Island, China throughout the year in addition to the online exhibition.
