A global leader in hospitality and restaurant design, the integrated architecture and interiors firm CetraRuddy has announced high-profile recognition for its growing hospitality practice, along with several new and upcoming projects.

Under the guidance of Nancy J. Ruddy, co-founding principal of CetraRuddy, the firm has become known for crafting unique, market-defining hospitality projects that bring a feeling of “home” to experiential lifestyle destinations in the Middle East, Asia, U.K., and the United States.

Building on this approach and the success of recent works such as 2019’s queensyard at New York’s Hudson Yards and 2018’s Bluebird London NYC, CetraRuddy has been recognized as a U.S. Top Firm by the restaurant industry group NEWH, and was also named as a finalist in Boutique Design magazine’s prestigious Gold Key awards. In addition, CetraRuddy has announced a number of significant project milestones, including:

 • The recent debut of Fotografiska New York, the first American location for Swedish photography organization Fotografiska. CetraRuddy’s transformation of a 1890s-era landmark building into an immersive cultural destination includes dramatic photography galleries, a dynamic ground-floor that comingles retail and art with a café & wine bar, and a flexible event space in the 6th floor attic.

• A late 2019 opening of Duck & Waffle Hong Kong, an expansion of the popular late night London eatery — also designed by CetraRuddy — to the International Finance Centre (IFC) Mall on the Hong Kong waterfront. With a modern material palette of stainless steel and frosted glass juxtaposed with old-world materials including white marble, rusticated metal, weathered wood, and ceramic tile, the 4,100-square-foot Duck & Waffle Hong Kong space offers a 120-seat main dining area, along with a 30-seat lounge.

• The upcoming opening of Pienza Pizza Pasta and Porchetta, a social enterprise eatery within CetraRuddy’s new Corporate Commons Three mixed-use complex on Staten Island. Part of a larger office campus, CetraRuddy’s design for the project also features a 40,000-square-foot organic rooftop farm intended to stock the restaurant, which will donate 100 percent of its profits to Staten Island charities.

These are just the latest in a long line of successful hospitality projects by CetraRuddy, including locations for Sugarcane Raw Bar Grill in New York and Miami, the acclaimed SushiSamba in London, the rooftop 20 Stories in Manchester, U.K., and the Galleria hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
