We are delighted to announce that Joseph Vance Architects is featured in the newest edition of New View: A Curated Visual Gallery being released November 30th. This latest edition coffee table book showcases twenty homes by renowned Northeast architects, including Joseph Vance Architect’s Soho Townhouse - a gut renovation of an 1869 manufacturing building into an 11,000sf custom private home in the neighborhood’s historic landmark district.

Formerly the studio and workshop of mid century art and furniture masters, Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, the building was transformed into a 7-story home designed to be modern yet warm and full of artisan workmanship.

One of only six single family homes in Soho, this luxurious home includes a 2-story living room with wood burning fireplace, 6 bedrooms, 11 unique bathrooms, a full spa on the cellar level with swimming pool, hot tub, exercise room, massage room, and custom sauna and steam rooms. This project was granted Interior Design Magazine’s 2020 NYCxDesign Award for Best Freestanding House/Townhouse, the 2020 Honor Award for Architectural Interiors from the Society Of American Registered Architects, and National Stone Institute’s 2020 Pinnacle Award for Residential, Single Family Home.
