The Lighting Practice congratulates Jered E. Widmer on his recent acceptance as a Professional Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD).
IALD Professional membership is available to architectural lighting designers who have at least five years of experience in the role of senior designer or above in an independent consulting practice. Candidates for this prestigious level of membership must submit a design portfolio and several peer recommendations for anonymous review by a panel of judges. Only those candidates who demonstrate a superior ability in architectural lighting design are awarded professional membership.
Jered Widmer is an Associate of The Lighting Practice. He has been with the firm since his graduation from The Pennsylvania State University in 2001. He designs architectural lighting for corporate, retail, historic, hospitality, healthcare, educational facilities. Some of his notable projects include The JFK Tribute, University of Michigan CS Mott Children’s Hospital & Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital, and the Brown Center at Maryland Institute College of Art.
Jered has also served ten years as an adjunct professor at Drexel University, educating architectural students on lighting. He is active with the IES serving as the current Philadelphia Section President and a member of the IES Progress Committee. Jered also enjoys exploring architectural photography, capturing dramatic images of the lighted environment.
