It is exactly 10 years since Lightyears and Cecilie Manz launched the popular Caravaggio pendant. Back then the Caravaggio series consisted of 4 lamps, available in 2 sizes and 2 colours. The pendant gained immediate recognition and popularity on account of its outstanding and dramatic appearance, earning it a reputation as one of the most characteristic pendant designs of the early millennium.
With her customary flair for colour, surfaces and aesthetics, Cecilie Manz has continued to further develop the Caravaggio collection, which now comprises 34 different pendant designs, 6 table lamps, 3 floor lamps and 2 wall lamps. Her most recent work involves a brand new reinterpretation of the black Caravaggio pendant due to be launched at the cutting edge Salone del Mobile Milano design fair in April 2015.
Caravaggio Matt Black has a completely matt surface and a neutral grey textile cord that allows the design's clean lines and soft forms to do the talking. The matt look injects a rare texture and depth into the pendant and makes it appear subdued and warm. The neutral and more discrete colouring gives the matt black pendant a timeless quality that fits into any environment.
The Caravaggio Matt pendant consists of a metal shade with feminine lines and a more masculine chrome-plated suspension. The matching textile cable is well integrated into the design and adds a finishing touch to the lamp. Caravaggio Matt gives off a concentrated downward light illuminating both the suspension and the cord through the open top. The deep shade prevents glare.
Caravaggio Matt is available in four sizes: P1, P2, P3 and P4 - in white, light grey (Grey25) and a darker grey (Grey45) and for the first time ever also in black.
