The University of Virginia’s Board of Visitors has approved MBB Architects’ schematic design for the renovation and expansion of the Center for Politics, a non-partisan institute. 

Housed in the historic Montesano house on UVA’s North Grounds, the expanded center will serve the university community with inclusive research and program space. Complementing the original red-brick Georgian building, the new center will welcome students by day and host events and receptions in the evening. The two buildings will be connected by a glass passage and courtyard that provide an accessible, welcoming main entrance.

MBB worked closely with the University Architect and other stakeholders to design the building to serve the UVA community.
