Culver City, CA
April 10, 2014-Joel Chappo AIA, a senior designer at Parallax, has helped orchestrate the “2x8: Evolve” exhibition at the A & D Museum in Los Angeles. The exhibition aims to showcase exemplary student work from architecture and design institutions throughout California, and award scholarships to winning entrants. A panel of judges, composed of designers and architects, will announce and award a winner from the exhibitors at the show’s opening on April 11th.
The installation features a display system designed by Julia Koerner, Marie Boltenstern and Kais Al Rawi which features twisted surface geometries that serve as a framework for student projects.
Joel initially became involved with the Academic Outreach Committee as a volunteer in 2004 while pursuing his California architect’s license. Since then, he has helped coordinate the event in part because “it’s an engaging evening that helps faculty, students, and the larger design community connect and interact.” The show runs from April 11th to May 11th.
