One of America’s most successful women architects, Rossana Gutiérrez de Lubetsky, AIA, principal of PEI Architects, spoke recently at the Academia Nacional de Arquitectura (de México). Her talk on July 3, on the topic of “Architecture as a Universal Language,” reached a large audience of architects and other professionals active in and near México.

The virtual talk, which related Gutiérrez’s experience as an architect working with I.M. Pei and her current firm, PEI Architects, on projects as far-flung as China, France, México and Qatar, reflects her reputation known for meticulous design work and project leadership on complex, culturally and technically challenging assignments.

Invited by the Academia Nacional de Arquitectura – Capítulo Querétaro (https://academianacionaldearqu... ), as well as the Colegio de Arquitectos de Querétaro (https://caeq.org) in north-central México, Gutiérrez’s presentation explored the lingua franca of architectural practice "common to all architects worldwide, including work in New York City and on international projects where one must navigate and consider diverse cultures, environments and experiences,” she says.

The "Conferencia: La Arquitectura como Lenguaje Universal” talk, presented on July 3 at the XXVII Consejo Directivo CAEQ, included a presentation that can be accessed at this link: https://we.tl/t-oC1TQ7doUk
