ATLANTA — March 28, 2018 – Jim Nicolow, the Director of Sustainability at Lord Aeck Sargent, has been selected for The American Institute of Architects’ College of Fellows. The fellowship program was developed to elevate those architects who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession and made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.
As a licensed architect since 2000, Nicolow is a nationally recognized expert in sustainable design and also a LEED Fellow. He is a frequent speaker, author and blogger on issues of sustainable design and high-performance buildings. In 2007, he was named one of Building Design & Construction Magazine's "40 Under 40" up-and-comers.
Nicolow now belongs to an elite group of architects. Only three percent of the AIA’s more than 91,000 members have been recognized as fellows. Currently, there are 3,425 living fellows globally.
“I am humbled to have been chosen for this prestigious group and find it particularly rewarding to be recognized for my contributions to furthering sustainability in our profession,” said Nicolow. “I am especially thankful for the support and encouragement from my colleagues at Lord Aeck Sargent and grateful for the opportunities our clients provide to do meaningful, challenging work.”
“I am always excited to see my colleagues succeed and thrive,” said Joe Greco, President of Lord Aeck Sargent. “In his 20 years with the firm, Jim has been a consistent sustainability champion and educator in the office, creatively coming up with solutions for some of our most challenging projects. He is an excellent choice for this honor and we are thrilled to celebrate this accolade with him.”
