October 2020 – Hoffmann Architects, an architecture and engineering firm specializing in the rehabilitation of building exteriors, is pleased to announce the promotion of a member of the New York technical staff.
Deena Darby, Assoc. AIA, NOMA has been promoted to Senior Project Representative, in recognition of her experience, technical skill, and professional accomplishments.
Since joining the firm in 2018, Darby has gained experience in investigation and construction administration for corporate, educational, healthcare, and religious architecture projects, including facade renovations, roof replacements, and exterior hardscape rehabilitation. Her project list includes Columbia University Morningside Campus, the Church of Scientology in New York City, the West Side Montessori School, and Jadwin Hall at Princeton University.
Originally from Savannah, Georgia, Darby earned a BArch degree from Syracuse University and studied architecture abroad in Italy and the UK. She is a member of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) and the AIA NY Women in Architecture committee. This summer, Deena was selected as one of 16 emerging professionals for the AIA NY TORCH Mentorship Program, which pairs protégés with mentors from the AIA College of Fellows. She also serves as a core member of Design as Protest’s Direct Action team, a national group of architectural designers dedicated to design justice in the built environment.
