MINNEAPOLIS, November 16, 2017 - The American Institute of Architects - Minnesota (AIA Minnesota) honored thirteen projects with 2017 Honor Awards. The awards were announced today at the AIA Minnesota Conference on Architecture. The Honor Awards recognize outstanding architecture designed by AIA Minnesota members and member architecture firms.

87 projects were submitted in 2017, and were evaluated in five categories: architecture; interiors; renovation and restoration; and urban design and master planning. Entries are evaluated by three internationally-renowned architects for their degree of design invention, attention to detail, advancement of sustainable design and other factors.
The 2017 Honor Awards jury included Wendell Burnette, FAIA, founder of Wendell Burnette Architects, Phoenix, Arizona; Mimi Hoang, AIA, principal of nARCHITECTS and adjunct assistant professor at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, New York City; and Hao Ko, AIA, design director for the architecture practice at Gensler, San Francisco, California.
