Stantec, a global integrated design firm, has appointed Léo Lejeune to lead the education sector for its global Buildings practice. He will oversee design and engineering services for PreK-12, higher education, and student housing projects, leading the firm’s strategy for sector-wide growth.

As global education sector leader, Lejeune offers more than 25 years of education facility design expertise. He connects thought leadership throughout the firm to ensure design excellence and innovation is at the forefront. In his new role, he will also oversee the firm’s Research + Benchmarking program that provides an internal framework to increase collective knowledge, explore industry trends, and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of Stantec designs.

Throughout his career, Lejeune has been responsible for building and nurturing client relationships, leading project teams, and mentoring developing talent. He has held key leadership roles on the design of the Student Association Building at MacEwan University, University of Calgary Clinical Skills Building Addition, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Master Plan, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology Centre for Applied Technology, among others.

Lejeune also contributes thought leadership to industry publications and global design conferences. An active member of the Society of College and University Planning (SCUP), he has presented at regional and national conferences on topics related to campus master plans, higher education architectural design, and sustainability.

“With a distinguished career at Stantec, Léo has long demonstrated an ability to use innovation, collaboration, and inspiration to lead complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams,” said Stephen Phillips, senior vice president for Buildings at Stantec. “In this new role, Leo will knit together the resources and expertise of Stantec’s global education practice to design spaces that inspire the next generation of learners.”
