A luxury new six-story rental building designed by Minno & Wasko Architects has been formally unveiled in Downtown Hackensack, NJ.  Hackensack city leaders recently joined principals of development partners Hornrock Properties and GTIS Partners to formerly open Ivy and Green.

Mayor John Labrosse and Deputy Mayor Kathleen Canestrino led a special ribbon cutting ceremony marking the completion of Ivy and Green’s first phase of 221 well-appointed rental residences and next-level indoor and outdoor amenities. The development was praised for further energizing downtown Hackensack and bridging its bustling River and Main Streets to Foschini Park and the Hackensack River waterfront.

Located at 1 Park Avenue, Ivy and Green has transformed a former city-owned parking lot within an Opportunity Zone into a modern residential building that is helping to meet the strong demand for new contemporary residences and thoughtfully-curated amenities within the burgeoning Hackensack market.  Leasing is underway at the community, with 50% of the first phase of residences spoken for and residents moving in daily, according to the developer.  Construction has started on a second building that will deliver 168 units in late 2023.

Development Details

Ivy and Green features a collection of generously-sized studios, one- and two-bedroom residences and an impressive list of resort-style amenities within a distinctive six-story building.  Stylish homes offer nine-foot ceiling heights, oversized windows with complimentary treatments, and in-home washer and dryer.  Designer kitchens boast stainless steel appliances, gas range and French door refrigerator, and quartz countertop and backsplash.  Lavish baths are adorned with tiled walls and illuminated vanity mirrors. Select homes offer balconies or terraces to extend the living space outdoors.

Monthly rents start from the $2,400’s, with Grand Opening incentives that include up to two months free. The Marketing Directors is the exclusive marketing and leasing agent.

Amenities Designed to Achieve a Life of Balance

Ivy and Green features more than 50,000 square feet of amenities and social spaces. Outside there’s a 14,000 square-foot courtyard with a resort-style pool and sundeck, BBQs and pizza oven, dining and lounging areas, and outdoor fitness turf.  An expansive 8,000 square foot rooftop deck offers a bar, dining areas, TVs, firepits and lounge seating, while affording great views of Foschini park, the Hackensack River, and Manhattan.  Additional leisure activities include ping pong, foosball, life-sized chess, and an outdoor movie screen and viewing lawn.

When venturing inside, residents enjoy a double-height lobby, co-working spaces, private conference rooms and work pods, library nooks, and a billiards lounge with arcade games.  Creative spaces are highlighted by a speakeasy with bar and fireplace, demonstration kitchen & dining room, theatre and music studio, meditation room, and children’s playroom.  Exercise enthusiasts will be wowed by the state-of-the-art fitness center, including Echelon bikes, and gym studio with on demand fitness and Crossfit rig.  The community also offers concierge service, pet spa, package lockers, bike storage and garage parking with EV charging stations.

Ivy and Green is just steps from Downtown Hackensack which is known for its unique character and streetscapes that blend contemporary buildings and homes rooted in history.  Its primary business district, Main Street, is a bustling two-way thoroughfare filled with shopping, restaurants and entertainment.  There are long-time dining favorites like Lido’s Restaurant, recently ranked #1 on NJ.com’s list of Best Old School Restaurants, and the famous White Manna.  Newer dining establishments include the French-Italian fusion restaurant Aura.
