Leader of Worldwide Daylighting Innovation Company Retires After 28 Years of Service
Solatube International, the world’s-leading manufacturer and marketer of tubular skylights and home ventilation systems has announced the retirement of longtime company leader, CEO Robert E. Westfall. Jr. Westfall has been instrumental in some of the company’s major product innovations, and he spearheaded the company’s entry into the commercial sector and into international markets such as China.
Westfall joined Solatube in 1996 as vice president, sales and marketing, and became president in 2009 and CEO in 2023. During his tenure, he was highly involved in all aspects of company management; he drove the expansion of Solatube distribution channels, developed the brand and marketing strategy and the advancement of the company’s information technology.
Over the past 28 years, Westfall has played a critical role in driving the company’s growth. Under his leadership, Solatube extended its presence to 122 countries, with installations spanning a diverse array of environments, from residential homes to cathedrals, educational institutions, warehouses, restaurants and sports arenas, among others.

Westfall has also been highly active in the San Diego community, currently serving as president of the board of trustees at Vista Community Clinic, a leading provider of affordable, essential health services in North San Diego County, addressing areas with limited or no access to care and confronting systemic barriers to healthcare.
Prior to Solatube, Westfall worked as an account executive at Grey Advertising in Los Angeles and as vice president at Phillip-Ramsey/McCann-Erickson in San Diego.
