Jennifer Song Koeppe, AIA, A4LE, will lead the Denver K12 and Higher Education markets through a period of new growth, expansion, and enhanced educational design services.

DENVER–February 10, 2022–RATIO Design announces today the appointment of new leadership for Denver’s K12 and Higher Education market sectors: Jennifer Song Koeppe, AIA, A4LE, has stepped into the role.

The addition comes at a time of growth for RATIO’s Denver studio, which has been expanding into new markets, including workplace, mixed-use and residential, and hospitality. Its strong legacy in community, multi-family housing, public library, and preservation work–studio was known as Humphries Poli Architects until a merger with RATIO Design in 2019–ensures clients across every market sector benefit from our holistic design approach.

“I look forward to building off the Denver studio’s nearly 30-year legacy and using my network to bring better design and more accessible education opportunities to the people of Colorado. I aim to reconcile the idea that high design doesn’t have to come with an equally high cost. And that all parts of the building can and should be designed,” says Jennifer Song Koeppe, AIA, A4LE.

Song Koeppe previously worked as the Director of Planning, Design & Construction at Denver Public Schools, where she worked on capital projects approved in the 2016 and 2020 General Obligation bonds. Her expertise is vast, but she has spent the last decade refining an unparalleled specialty in programming, capacity studies, educational planning and the design advisory group process.

She is a Denver native and received a Bachelor of Environmental Design and a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado. She joins RATIO’s team as an Associate Principal / Architecture. Song Koeppe will help project teams and clients overcome the unique challenges they are currently facing, including rising construction costs, supply chain issues, outdated facilities needing updates to meet code, and evolving expectations and needs from the community. “I want to help every client tell their story, build consensus, and find a solution that goes beyond their expectations to anticipate future needs,” says Song Koeppe.

For RATIO Design’s clients, this leadership addition indicates our commitment to education and the health and wellbeing of Denver and the Mountain Region. It will not only improve the management and quality of project delivery but bring a highly specialized expertise that’s firmly rooted in the Denver landscape and school system already.

RATIO Denver studio’s recent and influential education projects include, K12: Mancos K12 Campus renovation, Isabella Bird Community School, Park Street PK-8 School, and the Prairie View High School addition. And for Higher Education: University of Colorado Boulder Smead Aerospace Engineering Sciences Building, University of Colorado Boulder Integrative Physiology Laboratory & Clinical Space, Colorado State University Suzanne & Walter Scott, Jr. Bioengineering Building, and Colorado State University’s LEED Platinum Chemistry Research Building.
