Calgary, AB, CA
The most energy-efficient public administration building in Canada is currently under construction in an unassuming location: Valleyview, AB.
Scheduled for completion this spring/summer, the building will consume ⅛ of the energy typically needed by a public administration building in Canada. This will translate not only in lower carbon emissions, but also increase cost savings on building operation and maintenance.
To reach this level of performance, the Town of Valleyview is aiming for Passive House Plus certification, a first in the world for a commercial building. The local design-build team assigned to this project is composed by Scott builders and Calgary-based Flechas Architecture.
