Prominent firm continues expansion by welcoming two new Structural Engineering Staff

Sarasota, Fla. (March 1, 2017) – Snell Engineering Consultants continues its rapid growth by filling two new positions. The firm has undergone shifts in leadership over the past year, and has since set its sights on expansion of staff, services and geographical reach.

Percy Alexander enters his new role as Snell’s Structural Drafter after earning his certification as a Revit Drafter through Autodesk at Suncoast Technical College. While working toward his certification, Alexander headed a number of projects, including the design of an entirely self-sufficient 3,000 square foot home, capable of storing and filtering its own water and providing its own power. He anticipates a successful engineering career among the knowledgeable and respected leadership at Snell, including Curtis Ross, P.E. and Cord Van Nostrand, P.E., S.I., whom Alexander described as forward-thinkers with valuable insight to the direction of the engineering industry.

Craig Stevenson, EI joins Snell’s team as its new Structural Engineer. In 2013, Stevenson received his NCEES Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of South Florida. He went on to gain diverse experience throughout Central Florida, working on projects including the I-275 and Veterans Expressway reconstruction project in Tampa, which covered more than 10 miles of both roadways. He also worked on the design for the future Cypress Creek Middle and High School in Wesley Chapel, a large 5-building tilt-up wall project with a modern design. Stevenson looks forward to working toward an established engineering career as a part of one of the area’s most respected firms.

“We are looking forward to having both Percy and Craig be a part of the firm as it continues to grow in both size and capability. Snell has upheld its reputation as a prominent engineering firm in the area for decades, and we look forward to having both new members contribute to its continued success with their own skills and potential.”

— Cord Van Nostrand, P.E., S.I.
