Auburn Hills, MI
Ferndale will be getting a bit more populated and busy during the summer. The old Save-a-Lot building at 430 West 9 Mile will be home to a new mixed-use building. Designhaus, an architecture firm located in Rochester, MI, was tasked with developing the new project for Arbor Investments. What will be in place of the grocery store is a four story mixed use project with 1,345 square feet of office space and parking on the first floor and roughly 79,200 feet of residential area above consisting of 90 units. The development will also include amenities such as an exercise facility, community room and a roof deck with views of the Detroit skyline.
“People are starting to move back to the cities and it’s great to build high-quality housing for the Ferndale residents” says Peter Stuhlreyer, Chief Architect. “The area chosen to develop this project is a prime spot for those wanting to live in Ferndale. It’s a convenient walk to the local stores and dining. This type of mixed-use project allows for more economical growth in the city of Ferndale.” With the new development coming in, Ferndale will look to continue its popularity with those looking to move closer to downtown Detroit.
Construction is set to start this April.
