The house sits on a hill overlooking the city. From the street, the entry is accessed through a landscaped courtyard, past the garage/workshop. The front door opens to the view, a procession of experienced spaces: arrival, entry, horizontal and vertical circulation, transparencies and multiple views are revealed, visually connecting to the city below.  The 3 story building section unifies the house to the site and the topography with outdoor decks at every level.

The house is in communion with the trees, using the trees for shelter, shade, and a hoist during construction, an object in the landscape.
