The Sam Houston Tollway Northeast project completes Houston’s outermost beltway. This thirteen mile link was built to serve the established residential communities in the area and complete the tollway’s seventy mile loop. The larger context of the toll road system demonstrates this project’s regional scale.
Design one ten-lane structure to span 200 feet and accommodate vibration-sensitive tolling equipment without interrupting vehicle travel. Establish a new architectural vocabulary that could see system-wide implementation.
