One of the largest mass timber buildings in the U.S., T3 West Midtown is a seven-story, 255,000 SF commercial development located within Atlantic Station, a master-planned neighborhood designed to mitigate urban sprawl and encourage sustainability.
T3 West Midtown is an amenity-rich, modern loft office that provides the richness, character, and warmth of late 1800’s heavy timber buildings, with the advantages of modern, class-A construction. The site was once the home of the Atlantic Steel Mill foundry, which inspired the exterior steel-frame expression and wooden gantries serving as balconies serving individual office tenants. T3 is adjacent to Foundry Park, a public city park whose central icon is the former Foundry smokestack. Expansive park-facing glazing dissolves the distinction between interior and exterior, tying the lobby to the park landscape beyond.
Above the first floor, the neutral and repetitive wood structural elements braced with steel accents create a universal interior space that can be personalized for each tenant’s requirements. Extensive exterior glazing allows light penetration deep into the floor plate while also harboring a connection to the exterior landscape framed by the rich timber structure. The layout features open floor plans with floor-to-ceiling windows, heavy timber columns, beams and concrete floors. Private outdoor space is offered at every level.
Within the common areas, timber elements and wood detailing enclose larger communal areas in the lobby and the Social Workspace amenity space, and also define smaller, more intimate areas designed for privacy and conversation.
